ABOUT
Matzorific Productions was created by Jenni Matz.
A skilled researcher and interviewer, (click to see full list of interviewees and links) director & producer, an archivist with an MLS degree specializing in media archives, a production manager, and an accomplished video editor (both FCP and AVID) Jenni has worked in all aspects of production for over 15 years.
PRODUCTION CREDITS
The American Experience: Hoover Dam (PBS), American Passages (Annenberg/CPB), This Week in History (The History Channel), The Greatest Generation II and Gay Hollywood (MSNBC), Blue's Clues (Nickelodeon), and numerous independent productions. Line Producer for Diane Sawyer; Editor for Interscope/Geffen. Producer of the WFMU Record Convention. Manager of The American Comedy Archives.
After receiving an MLS in Library Science, Matz further explored a longtime interest in oral histories. Her first published book was edited from interviews with antiquarian book collectors: Reminiscences and Remembrances of Herman and Aveve Cohen and the Chiswick Bookshop 1935-2001 (New York: The Typophiles, 2002.) She went on to produce a documentary about book designers: Abe Lerner: A Life in Books (The Typophiles, 2003), for the typography club which has screened in NY, San Francisco, Providence, and Boston. After managing the archives of the Late Federal District Judge A. David Mazzone, she pursued and produced an oral history documentary about the landmark Boston Harbor Cleanup legal case, featuring interviews with Senator Edward M. Kennedy, and former Governor Michael Dukakis: Judge Mazzone: Reflections on The Boston Harbor Case (The Urban Harbors Institute, 2004).
Along with veteran comedian Bill Dana, Jenni founded the American Comedy Archives at Emerson College in 2005. The duo conducted over 60 in-depth interviews with the living legends of comedy (from Lewis Black to Jonathan Winters) and preserved their stories in a digital media archive.
