Bio: A skilled researcher, interviewer,
project manager, editor, and archivist with a Master's Degree in Library
Science, Jenni has worked in all aspects of production for over
15 years.
After receiving an MLS in Library Science from Simmons College, Matz further explored a longtime interest in oral histories. Her first published book was edited from interviews with antiquarian book collectors: Reminiscences and Remembrances of Herman and Aveve Cohen and the Chiswick Bookshop 1935-2001 (New York: The Typophiles, 2002.) She went on to produce a documentary about book designers: Abe Lerner: A Life in Books (The Typophiles, 2003), for the typography club which has screened in NY, San Francisco, Providence, and Boston. After managing the archives of the Late Federal District Judge A. David Mazzone, she pursued and produced an oral history documentary about the landmark Boston Harbor Cleanup legal case, featuring interviews with Senator Edward M. Kennedy, and former Governor Michael Dukakis: Judge Mazzone: Reflections on The Boston Harbor Case (The Urban Harbors Institute, 2004).
Along with veteran comedian Bill
Dana, Jenni co-founded the American Comedy Archives at Emerson
College in 2005. The duo conducted over 60 in-depth interviews
with the living legends of comedy (from Lewis Black to Jonathan
Winters) and preserved their stories in a digital media archive.
In 2007, Jenni became the Manager of Digital Projects for the
Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation's Archive
of American Television, and co-founded the award-winning website
with Archive director Karen Herman (emmytvlegends.org).
Currently, Jenni manages their digital library of over 2500 hours
of videotaped oral histories, and continues to conduct interviews.
